“In the Trinity term of 1929 I gave in and admitted that God was God and knelt and prayed: perhaps, that night, the most dejected and reluctant convert in all England.”
The geniality of C.S. Lewis work is that he transmits the complex of Christianity into a simple fairy tale. But not only the Christianity Orthodoxy but also the result of his own conversion, and all this orthodoxy is reflected in his world vision. He told us the story of the world, since his Creation to the Resurrection of Jesus (Aslan).
C.S. Lewis is one of the English writers converted to Christianity, and is also one of the more famous, so this conversion is the result of the common sense of all English writers, and this common sense is the common sense of Christianity, so at the end of the day Christianity is one of the most simplest thing and at the same time on of the more complex things of the world. And this idea was really adapted by the English Converse writers. So at this point, we can think of Narnia Chronicles and C.S. Lewis point of view. So, the Christianity could be the only thing really adapted to a fairy tale, because could be assimilated by a kid, by a teenager, and by and adult also. And this argument is the main purpose of Lewis, to say to his readers that Christianity is a thing for all, because of that Christianity adapts perfectly to the human nature.
This could be seen at many scenes of Narnia Chronicles, for example: Aslan is Jesus Christ and the Witch is the devil (sin) who tented Edmund, this kid was condemned by the Witch and Aslan gave his life to the salvation of Edmund, supporting the offences of the other animals, and finally got killed, just like Jesus gave his life for us and gave us Salvation. And after three days Aslan resurrected and appeared to Lucy, this girl could be compared to every kid that keep his faith in God in every moment even when there is no hope, and at the last book Aslan told her that in every place he always be there, just as for the Christians God is in every placed.
So this fairy tale at the end of the day is the reflection of G. K. Chesterton (Lewis converter) said: “The most incredible thing about miracles is that they happen.” So this story tries to say is that Christianity is a constant miracle.
